LETTER OF INVITATION

Dear Sir/ Madam,
With the school motto of Do Good Be Good and the Philosophy of Unity in Diversity as the guiding principle, Naval's Academy has been trying to share its unified vision of education with like minded and futuristic orientated educationists like you. We share our conviction that the purpose of education is to establish a unified civilization on earth through material, human and spiritual education.
Naval's Academy strives to make every student the torch bearer of the world. By challeging their intellect and talent through problems in mathematics, literature and general awareness at international level, students are made aware of their mental & personal development.

`Coyst International 2007 explores healthy avenues to release the youth's capacities, develop their analytical abilities, build self confidence, will power and goal setting competencies and instil in the youngminds a moral vision that will enable them to become self motivated agent of social change to serve the best interest of all without national boundaries.
Coyst International 2007 is scheduled to be held at Gorakhpur (India) from 5th to 8th of November 2007. All the details relating to this contest are there in the brochure.
We have great honour in inviting you and your team to this exciting contest. Entries will be accepted on First Come, First served basis.

I am extremly pleased to welcome all the young talents of the world to collect at one stage and exchange their ideas with healthy competition to make the world a better place to live in. With the initiative of building a greener and happier world with the vision of young talents, I am very pleased that Rustampur branch of Naval's Academy is organising a four day long COYST International i.e. Congregation of young Scientific talents in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a small step for humanity but a bigger step for mankind. Such programmes will provide the young shoulders of the nation, a chance to mingle and exchange ideas with the children of other schools and countries, thus contributing to mission of globalism. MESSAGE FROM THE DESK OF THE CONVENOR :
I take pleasure in announcing that our esteemed Institution is organising COYST International (Congregation of young Scientific talents) 2007 which is scheduled to be held from 5th November 2007 to 8th November 2007.
Away from the frevours of courses, text books and examinations, the Academy also aims to create citizens worth for bringing progress and harmony in the world. This fest has been organized with the view to give the torch bearers of the society a platform to work hand in hand with their counterparts of various schools of the nation and abroad, so that they may develop broader views and targets and moreover equipping them with immense ideas of globalism.
At COYST International our only aim is to spread the message of love and brotherhood and to maintain peace and harmony among the brothers of this world.

AWARDS FOR MERIT/ PARTICIPATION
POINT SYSTEM :
Teams/ Participants will be awarded points as follows :
1. First 5 Points
2. Second 3 Points
3. Third 1 Points
The team scoring the maximum number of points shall win the BEST TEAM TROPHY.
TEAM TROPHY : There will be BEST TEAM TROPHIES - one for the school section and the other for the College section.
INDIVIDUAL TROPHIES : In addition to the BEST TEAM TROPHIES, individual trophies and certificates will be awarded to all winners and runners up in individual events.
PATICIPATION CETIFICATE : All participants will receive a certificate of participation at the "PRIZE DISTRIBUTION" ceremony. It is compulsory that the team leader accompanies the team on stage.
FINAL DECISION : All Judges will be experts in their fields and will in no way be connected with Naval's Academy. The decision of Judges will be final and binding.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
Overseas participants:
There are two levels of participation: Super Senior and Senior. Students falling in the age group of 17-18 yrs and 13-16 yrs are eligible to participate in the Super Senior and Senior levels respectively.
Local participants :
Students enrolled in Grades XI-XII and IX-X are eligible to participate in Super Senior & Senior category respectively.
Application Procedure:
A team comprising of maximum 20 and minimum 10 participants can participate in either SUPER SENIOR or SENIOR category. The team will be accompanied by a team leader. Although it is recommended that the team participates in all events but participation in a minimum of FOUR events is compulsory.
An entry form wIll be considered valid if it is complete in all respects and is duly forwarded by the head of the institution through post, fax + 91-0551-2201593, e-mail info@navalsacademy.com. You can also register online (www.navalsacademy.com. )
Last date of receipt of the registration form (duly filled) is 10th October 2007. However you can confirm the participation by 20th October 2007 through post, fax + 91-0551-2201593 or e-mail info@navalsacademy.com.. Kindly forward your travel details by 15th October 2007.
Code of Conduct:
For ensuring smooth running of Coyst International team leaders are requested to ensure that their team is seated in the Auditorium five minutes before the commencement of the Day's programme in perfect discipline. It is necessary for all the participants to wear Coyst identification badges at all times and remain in the Auditorium for the entire duration while the events are on. A team escort shall be provided for your assistance.
1. Kindly adhere to all the timings given in the schedule of events. The team should be strictly disciplined through out their stay in Gorakhpur.
2. Participating teams including team leader can meet their friends and relatives within the campus between 6.00 P.M. and 7.00 p.m. only.
3. Any kind of indiscipline by any delegate may disqualify the team from participation.
Services and Facilities:
All International and National teams will be provided transport by us from Airport/ Railway Station to the venue on arrival and also on departure.The participants will be provided free of charge with meals, accommodation at our hostel for the entire duration of their stay.
Medical Facilities :
Medical services for minor sickness or injuries are provided on campus. In case of emergency local public hospitals are available at all times.
Telecommunication Facilities:
Overseas telephone calls, fascimile and e-mail facilities are available on payment basis.
Others :
1. Arrangement for washing and ironing of clothes is available on payment.
2. Computer System or any other device will not be provided by the organizers.

SUPER SENIOR CATEGORY EVENTS

WORKING SCIENCE MODEL
Super Senior Group
1. A team of TWO participants will be allowed with the Science Model.
2. The model must be made by the students and it should be a working kind.
GENERAL :
1. The model should be socially useful.
2. The team should submit the project report of the model alongwith the skeletal diagram one hour before the begining of the competition. We will supply electricity of 220 volts 50 Hertz A.C.
3. The team are requested to bring their own equipment required for the model.
4. Those model which are completly hand crafted will receive bonus points in all the categories and marks will be deducted if it is purchased or made by commercial manufacturer.
EVALUATION OF MODEL :

SWAY TO THE TUNE OF FOLK

1. Each team comprise of minimum of two & maximum of six participants in a group.
2. The participants are requested to bring their own audio cassettes not CD/DVD having the only song in it on which the dance is to be done.
3. Please prepare yourselves with full costume of the folk.
4. The team leader has to acquaint with the spectator with the folk dance before the dance
begins.
5. There is no time limit for the dance.
6. The team has to submit the cassette with the name of team written on the cover.

COMPUTER QUIZ
Super Senior
1. Each Team will be represented by 2 [Two] participants only.
2. The Finalists will be chosen on the basis of the Written Round which will be regarded as the Qualifying Round.
3. The Best 4 [Four] teams will be selected for the finals on the stage.
4. The questions may be based on history of computers, latest developments, softwares, hardwares, IT etc.
5. The Quiz Master's decision will be final and binding.

Let's make a greener earth
1. Each Team will be represented by Two participants only.
2. Each team has to prepare a projected based on any ONE of the topics mentioned below.
3. They will present their project through posters/ charts for evaluation by the panel of judges.
It can also be presented through CD/DVD.
4. The organizers will provide a computer system for final display of the CD/DVD prepared earlier on. The organizer will not provide equipments for preparing CD/DVD at the place of the competition.
5. Criteria of evaluation will mainly be creativity and viva-voce.
6. The topics for this competition are :
(a) Updated Pollution Report (b) Global warming
(c) Hectic pace for Technological & Industrial Supremacy.

SCI FI PENNING
Super Senior
1. Each Team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. The short story should be original with a minimum of 500 words.
3. Participants will be given a choice of topic. Half-an-hour will be alloted for the preparation of the story, during which no participant is allowed to write.
4. The participant will be given ONE HOUR immediately after the planning time to write the story.
EVALUATION OF SCIENCE FICTION WRITING :
1. Content 20
2. Linguistic Ability 15
3. Creativity 15

1. Each team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. The participant will be given a topic on which he/ she will have a speak for HALF-A- MINUTE without wasting any time.
3. An objection may be raised by the other participants for any one of the following reasons :
a. Pause, b. Hesitation, c. Grammatical errors
d. Unnecessary repetition of words, phrase, topic & lifting another participant's ideas,
e. Time wasting technique, eg. counting numbers, spelling the word, singing etc.,
f. Reproducing a prepared piece more than once. Using the same idea under different topics.
4. Participant with the highest marks, wins.
5. Five [5] points will be awarded if the participant, on interjection, [on having correctly hammed]
speaks till the end of HALF-A-MINUTE.
6. One [1] point will be awarded and one [1] point will be deducted for a valid and invalid objection respectively.
7. At the discretion of the Moderator, one or two points may be awarded for humour, wit, speaking for 15 uninterrupted seconds, etc.
8. The clock won't be stopped in case of an invalid interjection.
9. The decision of the Moderator will be final and binding.

SENIOR CATEGORY EVENTS

ELOCUTION

1. Each team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. The piece selected can be a poem, a speech or a prose piece.
3. The participant will be allowed a maximum of THREE MINUTES to elocute. Participants are advised to edit their pieces accordingly and must submit the edited text.
4. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time-limit.
NOTE: Kindly send your edited passages or poems at the earliest. This is to avoid duplication of passages or poems during the competition. The piece should reach us latest by October 10, 2007. Please do not send the elocution piece by fax. You can send your matter through e-mail info@navalsacademy.com.
NOTE: Drawing of lots for places for ELOCUTION will take place in the Control Room at the time of registration.

SCI FI PENNING

1. Each team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. The short story should be original with a minimum of 300 words.
3. Participants will be given a choice of topic. The first Half-an-hour will be devoted to planning the story, during which no participants is allowed to write.
4. The participants will be given ONE HOUR immediately after the planning time to write the story.
EVALUATION OF SCIENCE FICTION WRITING :
1. Content 20
2. Linguistic Ability 15
3. Creativity 15

GENERAL QUIZ

1. Each team will be represented by TWO participants only.
2. The team will be chosen on the basis of the Written Round which will be regarded as the Qualifying Round.
3. The best 10 teams will be selected for the Finals.
4. The Quiz Master's decision will be final and binding.

PAINT YOUR IMAGINATIONS:

1. Each team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. The theme will be given on the spot.
3. The cartoon will be black & white only. Use of colours is not allowed.
4. Participants will be required to bring their own sketching materials. Only PAPER will be provided by the organizers.
5. Each participant will be given one and half hour for making his/her sketch.
EVALUATION OF PAINT YOUR IMAGINATIONS:
1. Content
2. Presentation
3. Creativity

MATHEMATICAL MAGICIAN

1. Each Team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. This event will be held in Senior category only.
3. It is a written competition where a set of questions will be given to each participant. The
time limit for this event is ONE HOUR.
4. The answer sheet will be provided by the organisers.
5. The winner will be decided on the basis of the highest marks.

PENTATHALON

1. Each Team will be represented by ONE participant only.
2. The participant is requested to do FIVE things given below for ONE minute each. He/she
will have to -
a. Speak on the given topic for ONE minute. No extra time for preparation will be given.
b. Drawing on the theme given on the spot.
c. Mono-acting- situations for mono-acting will involve enacting the roles of two or more
characters.
d. Sorting out a WORD- JUMBLE.
e. Present a prepared advertisement of an imaginary product which is to be shown on the TV.
NOTE : - Drawing of lots for places for PENTATHALON will take place in the CONTROL ROOM at the time of registration.
